Reason behind increase in mucus production:
Normal quantity of mucus saves us from maximum respiratory infections but when mucus production increases, it causes discomfort.
Foods that are responsible for increase in mucus production: Any food which has HISTAMINE can cause increased mucus production. Foods which contain histamine or which encourages mucus production are as below:

- Carbonated beverages
- Foods rich in vitamin C such as Chillies, tomato, citrus fruits, Banana etc.
- Fried foods
Foods which decrease mucus production are as below:
- Turmeric: We can add turmeric in vegetables while cooking or can have pinch of turmeric with honey
- Ginger: Ginger can be eaten in any form. Its anti inflammatory properties helps in internal healing and save us during weather changes
- Garlic: Compound ALICIN present in garlic helps to control mucus formation and also acts as antibiotic, anti inflammatory and prevents asthma

- Plant based soups and berries
