In a bid to restore order, security forces resorted to deploying tear gas to disperse the protesters who had besieged the Parampath police station. The scene was chaotic, with hundreds of demonstrators converging on the station, brandishing placards and chanting slogans.

The Parampath police station, located in Imphal East, was not the sole target of the protesters' ire. Similar incidents unfolded at other police stations, including Singhjamei, Kwakeital, Mayank Imphal, and Andro stations. Leading this fervent protest were six local clubs and the Mayra Paibis, all united by a common cause.

Their collective demand? The unconditional release of five volunteers from their village, a demand they felt left with no alternative but to pursue. The government had been unwavering in its refusal to release these individuals, a stance that had only fueled further tensions.
