Serious effects of air pollution
Air is one of the five elements, and it is also very essential for life. It is not possible to imagine life without air. Whether we get something or not, but if we do not get air, our life will become dead. Clean air communicates life in our lives. Clean air keeps us fresh and on the contrary, polluted air makes life unbearable and uncomfortable. All kinds of diseases start to flourish in our life due to polluted air. Unfortunately, today the air has become extremely polluted. Poisonous elements are being included in the air, which invite various types of diseases in our life.
Day by day the air is getting poisoned in our country. Its effect has become so dangerous that air pollution kills two people every minute and 120 people die in an hour. This statistic is quite shocking; because the air because of which we get life, because of that our life is being snatched away. According to a study, many of the most polluted cities in Asia are also present in our country. Ppm New Delhi and Patna are the most polluted cities in South Asia with a level of 2.5. Apart from this, Gwalior and Raipur are also included in the polluted cities. According to this level, the P.P.M. The standard to tell the pollution is- 153, 149, 144 and 134 respectively.
Pakistan's Karachi-117, Peshawar-111, Rawalpindi-107 come after these four cities in the most polluted cities. It is followed by Kabul-102 and Heran-100 of Afghanistan. After these cities, they again come to Lucknow, Firozabad, Kanpur, Amritsar, and Ludhiana of their country. Their levels are - 96, 96, 93, 92 and 91 respectively. After this, Agra-88 and Allahabad-88 are at the level, which are included in the world's most polluted cities. The smoke that comes out of 8 lakh cars in Delhi and the smoke that spreads in the sky from the nearby industrial area – four and a half lakh children are being affected by it. Doctors say that there are some of these children whose disease is incurable, that is, these children can never be healthy due to pollution.
The study says that air pollution is causing huge damage in North India. In North India, the residues of paddy and wheat are burnt in the field after cultivation. Their smoke also increases the level of air pollution. Pollution level 2.5 P.P.M. According to WHO, 27 to 34 lakh children are born prematurely in the world. And the health of these children remains uneasy throughout their lives. And remains surrounded by diseases. Recently, a survey was conducted in China. According to him, 94 percent of the people believed that the biggest problem there is air pollution, which is a serious challenge and the government there should pay attention first to solve this problem.
Realizing this serious danger, the Chinese government has either closed the coal plants there or has kept them for reconsideration. In the same way, effective steps should be taken to control air pollution in our country as well. The study states that air pollution has emerged as the deadliest pollution and this threat is increasing continuously. Due to air pollution, all the health organizations of the world are worried about how to deal with this serious challenge. In 2016, the level of air pollution had reached intolerable levels in some cities.
According to the World Bank, air pollution is likely to cause losses of close to crores of rupees in terms of labour force in India. Similarly, there is a serious loss in labour income in the world economy in a year. The diseases caused by air pollution include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), lung cancer, etc. Asthma is mainly caused by air pollution. The reason for this is the increase in elements like Sulphur-dioxide, Nitrogen-oxide etc. present in the air. Apart from this, tobacco smoke also increases asthma. Children who are exposed to cigarette or bidi smoke are at an increased risk of developing asthma. Lung cancer is also caused by air pollution. Heart disease also happens because of this. Premature birth of children is also due to air pollution. There are many other types of diseases like this.
It is essential to take necessary steps to avoid the menace of air-pollution. Green-enhancement prevents air pollution. This can be stopped by planting trees. Air pollution can be prevented by planting basil etc. plants in the pots of the house. Trees and plants absorb Nitrogen-dioxide, Carbon monoxide, Sulphur dioxide and toxic elements present in the air. Pipal, Banyan, Neem, Asoka, Tulsi etc. emit more amount of oxygen in trees and plants. That's why there is a need to apply them in maximum quantity. Apart from this, there is also a need for public awareness, which is helpful in reducing air pollution by considering tree plantation as our duty. The government should also be aware and control this dreadful problem with its plans. This can control air pollution.
