The picture grossed double digits on its second Monday. According to Taran Adarsh, a cinema trade analyst, it gained additional Rs 13.50 crore to its overall collection, which now stands at Rs 388.60 crore. The film's overall Hindi occupancy rate was 28.50%.

Gadar 2, which takes place 22 years after the first film in the franchise, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, follows Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), a father who will go to any level to bring back his son from Pakistan, where he is being held captive by army general Hamid Iqbal (Manish Wadhwa). The film's patriotic tone drew a large audience and resulted in a successful box office run.

On its second Monday, Gadar 2 has surpassed this year's biggest hit Pathaan. On its second Monday, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer made Rs 8.55 crore. It grossed Rs 543.05 crore at the end of its run. With Gadar 2 approaching the Rs 400 crore milestone, it remains to be seen if the film will be successful
