IIT Ropar has come from long time importance discovery, they have searched the appearance of Tantalum in the sand of River Sutlej, Tantalum is a very rare metal , it is used in making electronic devices. In making electronic goods SEMICONDUCTER devices are made from this metal because its structure match with Gold and Silver. This Tantalun metal is very valuable, for the nation it is being notice a great sucess.

Ropar Indian Institute of Technology { IIT } Researchers have discover the presence of Tantalum in the river sand of Sutlej which is origenated in PUNJAB. It is knowen that Tantalum is a rare and precious metal. This finding has been done by the team of Dr Resmi Sebastian , who is Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department of the institute. Experts are telling the presence of Tantalum is a significant not only for Punjab but may be for India. Ths metal is very much used in making electronics and semiconductors. The metal has dormant to make the nation as a " Golden Bird " again. There are some questions and very necessary to know the answer of all .Now we will discuss one by one in this post.
What is Tantalum :
Do you know ? Tantalum is a very rare metal , its atomic number is 73 . Atomic number means that the number of Protons are found in an atom nucleous in an element. Its colour is grey. It is heavy and to much hard metal and it is corrosion - resistant metals in use no a days., the reason is that this metal is destruction free - resistant. when its cme into air to forms an oxide layer, and very difficult to remove its oxide it is also resiatance with strong and hot acid atmosphers. This metal ia very flexible due to this property it can be make into thin wire or thread without fall in pieces just like silver and gold.
It is totally safe for chemical attack at temperature below 150 degrees Celsius. This metal has weeken proprities in hydrofluoride acid solution which having fluoride ions and free sulfur trioxide. Because the melting point of Tantalum metal is very high .

First the Tantalum metal was discovered in 1802 by the Swedish Chemist Anders Gustaf Ekenberg.in minerals obtained from Ytterby { Sweden }The discovery of Tantalum metal in India is very benificial for the importance of this metals. Being the precious metals it is used in making semi conducters of leptops mobile phones and computors.
Why did name's of this metal Tantalum ?
The name of Tantalum metal because it is rare metal after Greek muthological character Tantalus . But he ws rich King of the city Alop Mount Sipylus in ANATOLLA.. The name Tantalum was selected due to its insolubility in acids, when its come with acids it does not acquireany of them { Acids }.
Uses of Tantalum Metal :
Mostly Tantalum is used in the Electronic sectors. The Capacitors are made of Tantalum metal which are capable to store more power in a tiny size without to more leakage than any another types of capacitors . By this properties Tantalum metal is commonly used in portable electronic devices like Samart phones, laptops and digital cameras.
