"The problem has been going on for some days. There are not enough staff in the hospital. Many have been transferred. It was supposed to buy medicines from Haffkine Institute. But it was not bought. People come from far and wide to get treatment in the hospital. The budget of the hospital has also been cut extensively."
Dilip Mahaisekar, director of Maharashtra Medical Education and Research, said that a committee of three experts has been formed in this incident.

Congress leader Ashok Chavan rushed to the hospital yesterday.
He said, "24 people have died. I have come to meet the dean. The situation is very worrying. The government should look into the matter. The families of the dead should be helped immediately. The condition of 70 more patients is critical."
After that, a statement was issued by the hospital saying, "The budget of the hospital is Rs 12 crore. But only Rs 4 crore has been approved in the current financial year."
