Jharkhand's Second Vande Bharat Express
The Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, the second in Jharkhand, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing. The first one, which connects Ranchi and Patna, commenced service on June 27.
PM Modi's Vision for Railways
During the ceremony, PM Modi emphasized the government's commitment to improving the ease of travel. He mentioned that previous administrations didn't give railways the attention they deserved, leading to a need for modernization. The government has not only increased the budget for Indian Railways but is also working on multi-modal connectivity and extensive infrastructure development.

PM Modi expressed confidence that Vande Bharat trains would eventually connect every part of the country, highlighting their significance for those with limited travel time.

More than 1.11 crore people have already traveled on Vande Bharat trains, making them a symbol of New India's progress and trust. These trains exemplify modern connectivity and rapid infrastructure development.

These Vande Bharat Express trains are the fastest on their respective routes, significantly reducing travel time for passengers.
Connecting Pilgrimage Centers
Several Vande Bharat Express routes connect significant pilgrimage destinations like Tirupati, Puri, and Madurai, providing convenient transportation options.
Orange Vande Bharat Express in Kerala
Kerala will receive its second Vande Bharat Express, this time in vibrant orange. PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate this train, along with eight others, on September 24. The orange color is inspired by the saffron in the national flag.
Enhancing Nationwide Connectivity
By introducing these nine trains, which would operate through eleven states—Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat—connexibility will be improved.
A Leap Towards Better Connectivity
With the introduction of these trains, 11 states' worth of tourist and religious places are now better connected. On Sunday at 12.30 pm, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to use video conferencing to signal the departure of these nine Vande Bharat trains.
