Here is the full text of his speech:
My cherished family of 1.4 billion members,
In the grand theater of democracy, where we stand as the world's largest, and in the realm of population, where we lead by example, we hold the mantle of number one with trust and honor. Today, within this vast expanse, our nation celebrates the festival of independence, a momentous occasion that unites 140 billion brothers, sisters, and all fellow compatriots. On this sacred juncture, my warmest greetings embrace every citizen of our cherished land, extending to those who harbor love, respect, and a deep-seated pride in the heart of our nation, India.
Dearest members of my extended family,
As we recall the Non-cooperation/Civil Disobedience and Satyagraha Movement, under the sagacious guidance of our revered 'pujyaBapu,' Mahatma Gandhi ji, and the valorous contributions of luminaries such as Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, and their contemporaries, it is hard to fathom a soul who did not contribute to the arduous journey to our nation's independence. Today, I bow in reverence to those noble souls who made supreme sacrifices during the tumultuous course of our struggle for freedom. With humility, I acknowledge their indomitable spirit and the sacrifice that bestowed upon us the gift of a liberated nation.
On this 15th of August, we not only celebrate our independence but also commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, a visionary revolutionary and pioneer of spiritual awakening. Simultaneously, we honor the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji, whose teachings continue to illuminate our path. In the tapestry of this year's celebrations, we weave in the vibrant threads of history, honoring the valiant women warrior Rani Durgawati, marking her 500th birth anniversary. We also remember Meerabai, the embodiment of devotion and yogic pursuit, on the occasion of the 525th anniversary of her profound spiritual journey.
Our nation stands at the cusp of an inspiring milestone, the 75th anniversary of our Republic Day, approaching on the 26th of January. There could not be a more momentous juncture to pledge ourselves anew to the pursuit of national development, fueled by fresh inspirations, heightened consciousness, and resolute resolutions. As the gates swing open to boundless possibilities and opportunities, let us unite and forge ahead on this remarkable journey together.
Beloved members of my cherished family,
Regrettably, this time around, nature's wrath has unleashed unimaginable distress across various corners of our nation. My heart goes out to every family grappling with the repercussions of this calamity. To those enduring this crisis, I extend my deepest condolences, and I want you to know that both the state and central governments are resolutely committed to alleviating your suffering. Every effort will be exerted to stand by your side and untangle the knots of adversity at the earliest.
Dear members of my extended family,
Recent weeks have been marred by unfortunate turmoil, particularly in Manipur within the North-Eastern expanse and certain other pockets of our land. This spate of violence has claimed lives and infringed upon the dignity of our mothers and daughters. However, amidst the distress, there has arisen a chorus of peace, resonating across the nation. Our collective hearts stand in solidarity with the people of Manipur. These recent days have borne witness to a prevailing calm within Manipur, and I beseech you to nurture and sustain this peace, for therein lies the route to resolution. The state and central governments are collaborating assiduously to unearth solutions to these issues, and this collaborative endeavor will persist.
My dear family members,
When we glance into history's rearview mirror, certain moments etch themselves onto the annals of time, leaving an enduring legacy that resonates across centuries. These events, seemingly inconspicuous in their inception, possess the potency to sow the seeds of multifaceted challenges. We are all familiar with the fact that our nation bore the brunt of invasions some 1000-1200 years ago. A modest kingdom and its ruler succumbed to defeat. However, little could we fathom the ramifications that would ensue—India's descent into a millennium of subjugation. We found ourselves shackled in the chains of servitude, subject to the whims of conquerors who pillaged and reigned over us. What a tumultuous epoch that era must have been, spanning a millennium of adversity.
Dear members of my cherished family,
A seemingly inconsequential event can reverberate across millennia. Today, I wish to underscore this notion, for during this chronicle of history, India's valiant souls from every corner of the land stoked the flames of liberty and etched a tradition of sacrifice. Mother India rose to shatter fetters, to break bonds, as women power, youth vigor, farmers, rural inhabitants, laborers, and every Indian who breathed and lived shared a collective dream of freedom. An indomitable force stood poised to make sacrifices to reclaim that coveted liberty. Countless luminous souls who surrendered their youth to the confines of prison cells tirelessly labored to sunder the chains of subjugation and realize the nation's emancipation.
Beloved members of my extended family,
That pervasive consciousness, that encompassing ethos of sacrifice and penance, infused a fresh conviction into the hearts of the masses. And so, in the year 1947, the culmination of struggles endured over a millennium culminated in the ultimate achievement—freedom. The dreams nurtured through a thousand years of oppression finally came to fruition as India attained its hard-fought independence.
Friends,
I speak of events from a millennium past with a purpose. I stand amidst a juncture where our nation is presented with another chance, a time that marks the dawn of a new era. Fortune smiles upon us; we are either youthful or have been bestowed life in the embrace of Mother India during the first year of the 'Amrit Kaal.' Let me assure you, my beloved family, that our actions, our strides, our sacrifices, and our penance during this era will etch the legacy we leave behind.
Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay; Decision after decision, a golden tapestry of the nation's next millennium will unfurl from these choices. The events transpiring in this epoch shall echo through the corridors of the next thousand years. A country freed from the shackles of servitude, now devoted to the 'Panch-Pran,' the five tenets, advances with newfound self-assurance. The nation is wholeheartedly engaged in fulfilling these novel aspirations. My Mother India, once a dormant powerhouse beneath layers of ash, has stirred once again, awakened by the combined efforts, consciousness, and energy of its 1.4 billion inhabitants. Maa Bharti has risen from slumber, and over the past 9-10 years, we have witnessed the emergence of a fresh aura of trust, hope, and allure encompassing the world's perception of India. A renewed faith has sprung forth globally.
Fortunate are we, for we inherit virtues from our forefathers and concurrently, the present era gifts us new virtues. Demography, democracy, and diversity form a trinity endowed with the power to fulfill every dream of India. Amidst a world experiencing aging demographics, India propels forth with youthful vigor. It's a source of great pride that India today boasts the highest population under 30. This is our country's invaluable asset—youth below the age of 30; countless hands, minds, dreams, and resolutions. Brothers, sisters, family members, together we can achieve our desired outcomes.
Incidents of such magnitude sculpt the destiny of nations. This force shapes the trajectory of a country's future. We stand at the precipice, at the crossroads between a thousand years of subjugation and the grandeur of a forthcoming millennium. At this pivotal juncture, we cannot halt, nor can we remain embroiled in indecision.
My beloved family,
With pride in our reclaimed heritage, let us believe anew that every action we take, every stride we make, every decision we forge will script our course for the next thousand years, penning the fate of India. Today, I address the youth of our nation, the sons and daughters of this soil. You are privileged. Rarely does one encounter the opportunities that currently grace the footsteps of our young generation. We must not squander this blessing. I place immense faith in the power of our youth, an immense potential nurtured by our policies and environment.
The youth of today have propelled India into the top three ranks of the world's startup economies. The global youth are captivated by the potency of India's prowess. In an age dominated by technology, the era ahead will be shaped by its influence. This paves the way for India's technological talent to shine on the global stage, to play a pivotal role.
Friends,
During my recent visit to Bali for the G-20 Summit, premiers of the most affluent and developed nations displayed profound intrigue in the intricacies and success of our Digital India. They marveled at the fact that this marvel of India was not only the product of the efforts of youth from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, but also emanated from the youth of Tier-2, Tier-3 cities. Today, they are the architects of my nation's destiny. Youth from hamlets and towns, our sons and daughters, are achieving the extraordinary on the world stage. Reflect on how our sports realm has evolved—children born in slums are now champions. The youth from modest villages, towns, the bright stars of my family, are carving a remarkable niche in this domain.
This novel surge of potential across the country is palpable. This is why I affirm that while they may be small in geographical span and population, the ambition, determination, and impact they exude are unparalleled. They innovate apps, devise solutions, and engineer technological marvels. Consider the transformation of our sports realm. Prodigies born in slums now dominate the sports world. My small towns, villages, and their sons and daughters are scripting wonders. Witness how our nation has emerged as a stronghold of innovation, forging a realm of science and technology.
Youth of my country, take note—opportunities are boundless, as vast as the sky. The potential to create more opportunities thrives within our nation. Today, I wish to extend heartfelt felicitations to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of my land. The prowess and capability of my mothers and sisters have propelled our nation to new heights. As we tread the path of progress, let us salute our farmer brothers and sisters. And let us honor the tireless laborers of our country who are part of my extended family. They are all contributors to my nation's march toward modernity and its emergence as a global force. Their contributions deserve profound respect.
To my family of 1.4 billion citizens, to the laborers, street vendors, fruit and vegetable sellers, and to professionals who are driving the nation's progress—be they scientists, engineers, doctors, nurses, teachers, scholars, or institutions of learning—I extend my deepest regards. Each one of you is instrumental in shaping the destiny of our beloved Mother India.

My dear family members,
In the realm of national consciousness lies the liberation from anxieties. And today, this national consciousness is proving that India's paramount strength is trust. Our country's greatest power resides in the trust we place in each individual, the trust every individual reposes in the government, the trust in a radiant future for our nation, and the trust the world invests in India. This trust emanates from our policies and practices, a manifestation of the resolute strides we are taking, propelling us towards a brighter India.
Dear brothers and sisters,
It is undeniably evident that India's capabilities and potential are embarking on an unprecedented journey of belief. This newfound belief in our capacities and emerging strengths must be nurtured. The opportunity to host the G-20 summit has been bestowed upon us, and the manner in which various G-20 events and initiatives have unfolded across India in the past year has showcased the prowess of our ordinary citizens to the world. These events have unveiled India's diversity, leaving the world awe-inspired. The world observes our nation's diversity with admiration, leading to an amplified attraction towards India. The world's curiosity about and fascination with India are on the rise. Simultaneously, India's exports are soaring at an impressive pace. In light of all these indicators, experts across the globe are unanimous in their praise for India.
The aftermath of the corona period has set the stage for a new perspective. Just as the world established a new world order after the Second World War, it's palpable that a fresh global order, a renewed geo-political paradigm, is rapidly taking shape in the post-corona era. Geo-political equations are undergoing redefinition, perceptions are evolving. My dear family members, stand proud, for the world is witnessing the capabilities of my 1.4 billion fellow citizens, shaping the evolving global landscape. You stand at a pivotal juncture.
During the throes of the pandemic, the world bore witness to India's capabilities in steering the nation's course. Amidst disrupted supply chains and pressures on major economies, we upheld a vision of global development rooted in humanity, centered around human sensibilities. Covid forced us to acknowledge that global welfare cannot be achieved at the cost of human sensitivities.
Today, India resonates as the voice of the Global South. Our prosperity and heritage have transformed into global opportunities. Friends, with India's integration into the global economy and supply chain, and its esteemed position on the global stage, I state with utmost certainty that the current state of India guarantees stability worldwide. The minds of my 1.4 billion family members, the minds of the world, are devoid of ifs or buts; they are resolute, replete with trust.
My dear fellow countrymen,
The ball is now in our court; we must seize this opportunity, not let it elude us. I extend congratulations to my Indian brethren, for they possess the capacity to discern the crux of challenges. It was in 2014 that after three decades of experience, my countrymen realized that to propel the nation forward, we needed a strong and stable government, a government with an absolute majority. Thus, a strong and stable government was established, casting off the uncertainty, instability, and political compulsions that had gripped the nation for three decades.
Dear family members,
We now possess a government that dedicates every moment and every penny of public funds to foster equitable national development—for Sarvajan Hitaya: Sarvajan Sukhaya. The pride of my government and my fellow citizens stems from one cardinal principle, 'Nation First.' And this principle, 'Nation First,' will undoubtedly yield profound and positive outcomes. Vast-scale work is underway in the country. In 2014 and 2019, you elected a robust government, emboldening Modi to initiate reforms. This government's resolve empowered Modi to enact reforms, and the synchronized efforts of my bureaucracy, the millions serving the government across every corner of India, catalyzed the process of 'perform to transform.' With public participation, the transformation became evident. Thus, the period of 'reform, perform, transform' is sculpting India's destiny. We are cultivating forces within our nation that will fortify the foundation for the forthcoming millennium.
The world requires youthful vigor, skillful youth. To fulfill this demand, we established a dedicated Ministry for Skill Development. This ministry will not only address India's needs but also cater to global requirements.
We founded the Ministry of Jal Shakti, a reflection of our government's mindset and wisdom. This ministry prioritizes the provision of pure drinking water to every Indian citizen. Our focus extends to nurturing eco-sensitive systems for environmental protection. Post the pandemic, the world is seeking comprehensive healthcare, making it imperative. Hence, we established a distinct Ministry of AYUSH, and today, yoga and AYUSH practices radiate globally. Through our commitment, the world looks toward us. If we downplay our potential, how can the world appreciate it? With the formation of this ministry, the world recognized its significance. We are not neglecting the fisheries sector or our vast coastlines. We are cognizant of uplifting our millions of fishermen brethren and sisters. They reside in our hearts, prompting the creation of a dedicated ministry for fisheries, animal husbandry, and dairy, supporting these segments of society who've often been marginalized.
_Dear compatriots, beloved family members,_
_A significant portion of our nation's economy is attributed to the cooperative movement, which resonates as a cornerstone of our society's economic fabric. The Cooperative Ministry has been instituted, extending its network through our cooperative institutions. Its purpose is to lend an ear to the voices of the most marginalized, fulfill their needs, and allow them to contribute collectively to the nation's development. We have chosen the path of prosperity through cooperation._
_Dear family members,_
_In 2014, we stood at the 10th position in the global economy. Through the persistent efforts of 1.4 billion countrymen, we have now ascended to the 5th position in the world economy. This remarkable achievement was not a mere coincidence. At a time when the nation was ensnared by corruption, reeling from scams worth crores, and grappling with governance challenges, we staunchly plugged leaks, forged a robust economy, and directed increasing resources towards the welfare of the underserved. Let me emphasize that an economically prosperous nation does more than just bolster its coffers; it enhances the capacities of its citizens and the nation at large. When a government commits to spending these resources transparently for the welfare of its people, remarkable outcomes can be achieved._
_I stand before you today to present an account of 10 years from the ramparts of this Red Fort, where our tricolor unfurls in witness. The figures you hear narrate a compelling tale of transformation. You might wonder how this remarkable change came about, how potent is our potential to engineer such a profound shift. A decade ago, states received 30 lakh crore rupees from the Indian government. Over the past nine years, this sum has surged to 100 lakh crore rupees. In earlier times, the treasury disbursed 70,000 crore rupees for local body development; now, this has grown to over 3 lakh crore rupees. The funds allocated for constructing houses for the impoverished have multiplied fourfold, from 90,000 crore rupees to over 4 lakh crore rupees._
_Ensuring affordable urea for farmers was a priority. We provide urea to our farmers at 300 rupees per bag, while its market value can be as high as 3,000 rupees per bag. The government provides a subsidy of 10 lakh crore rupees on urea to support our farmers. The Mudra Yojana, with a budget exceeding 20 lakh crore rupees, has opened doors to self-employment, businesses, and ventures for our youth. About eight crore people have launched new enterprises, and this isn't just about eight crore entrepreneurs; each of them has created employment for one or two individuals. Through the Mudra Yojana, eight crore citizens have collectively generated employment opportunities for 8-10 crore people._
_During the turmoil of the pandemic, MSMEs received nearly 3.5 lakh crore rupees, preventing their collapse and reinforcing their resilience. The "One Rank One Pension" initiative, a tribute to our soldiers, infused 70,000 crore rupees from India's coffers to reach them and their families. These are merely a few instances, and I won't delve further to save time. Countless more initiatives have contributed significantly to the nation's development, generating employment across various sectors, accompanied by substantial budget increases in diverse domains._
_My beloved family,_
_The result of these collective efforts is that within my first five-year term, 13.5 crore of my fellow underprivileged brothers and sisters rose from the shackles of poverty to embrace the newfound middle class. There is no greater source of satisfaction in life than this._
_Dearest family members,_
_Schemes spanning housing, the PM SVANidhi scheme extending 50,000 crore rupees to street vendors, and numerous others have empowered these 13.5 crore individuals to transcend the grip of poverty. On VishwakarmaJayanti, a scheme benefiting artisans skilled in traditional crafts, particularly from the OBC community, will be launched. This scheme, known as the Vishwakarma Yojana, will initially be allocated around 13-15 thousand crore rupees, empowering weavers, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, barbers, laundry workers, and others. Under the PM KisanSammanNidhi, we've directly deposited 2.5 lakh crore rupees into farmers' accounts. For the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing pure water to every household, we've committed 2 lakh crore rupees. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has lightened the burden for the poor seeking medical care during illnesses. We've expended 70,000 crore rupees under this scheme, ensuring access to medicines, treatments, and quality hospital services. The country is aware that we allocated 40,000 crore rupees for free vaccines during the pandemic. Additionally, nearly 15,000 crore rupees were invested in vaccinating livestock to safeguard them._
_Dearest citizens, beloved family members,_
_Jan Aushadhi Kendras have provided renewed vigor to our senior citizens and middle-class families. In a joint family, if someone has diabetes, a medical bill of 2,000-3,000 rupees is commonplace. Through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, we offer medicines costing 100 rupees in the market for a mere 10, 15, or 20 rupees. Presently, with 10,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the nation, approximately 20 crore rupees have been collectively saved by individuals battling such ailments. Mostly, these are middle-class families. The success of this initiative prompts me to share that we are poised to expand it through the Vishwakarma scheme. Furthermore, we're aiming to establish 25,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the country, surpassing the current count of 10,000._
_Dear family members,_
_The reduction of poverty leads to the magnification of the middle-class sector's influence in our nation. I assure you that in the next five years, Modi guarantees India's place among the top three global economies. The 13.5 crore individuals who emerged from poverty have effectively become part of the middle class. As the purchasing power of the underprivileged escalates, so does the business potential of the middle class. When villages experience increased purchasing power, it propels the financial machinery of towns and cities, forging an interconnected economic cycle. Our aim is to forge ahead by reinforcing this interconnectedness._
_My dear cherished family,_
_The urban weaker sections grapple with numerous challenges, while middle-class families yearn to own their own homes. In the upcoming years, we are unveiling a new scheme that will benefit families dwelling in rented houses, slums, chawls, and unauthorized colonies within cities. If they aspire to build their own homes, we will offer them reduced interest rates and loans from banks, sparing them lakhs of rupees. If the income tax threshold for the middle class is raised from 2 lakh rupees to 7 lakh rupees, the salaried middle class gains the most. Internet data, once exorbitant before 2014, is now the world's most affordable. Every family's savings have grown._
_Dear compatriots,_
_The world has yet to emerge from the adverse repercussions of the pandemic, further compounded by the recent turmoil. The global economy is grappling with inflation, and this inflationary tide has swept across the world. We also import goods from the global market and regrettably, these come at inflated prices. Inflation has seized the world in its grip._
_Yet, my dear family,_
_India has made diligent efforts to tame inflation. We have achieved some degree of success compared to previous times, but we cannot rest on these laurels. We cannot afford to be complacent, believing that our situation is superior to the rest of the world's. I am committed to taking further measures to alleviate the burden of inflation from the shoulders of my fellow citizens. Our endeavors will continue._
_Beloved family members,_
_Today, our nation advances with diverse capabilities. We tread the path of modernity, venturing into renewable energy, green hydrogen, and expanding our space capabilities. We make strides in the deep-sea mission, modernize our railways, and proudly witness the Vande Bharat Bullet Train operating within our borders. Concrete roads now connect villages, while electric buses and metro railways emerge on the horizon. The internet reaches even the remotest corners of our land, and we look toward the future with the aspiration of quantum computing. While we develop Nano Urea and Nano DAP, we also champion organic farming. The Farmers Producers Association app takes shape, and we set our sights on semiconductor production._
_As we forge a more inclusive India for our differently-abled citizens, my Divyangjan, we empower them to hoist the Indian tricolor with pride in the Paralympics. These athletes undergo specialized training, marking a departure from antiquated thinking and expanding opportunities. India's progress aligns with our vision, moving beyond conventions and resolutions._
_Dearest citizens, beloved family,_
_Our work culture, characterized by aspiration, expansive thinking, foresight, and Sarvajan Hitaya: Sarvajan Sukhaya—this is our modus operandi. This energy propels us to achieve more than mere resolutions. We committed to constructing 75 thousand Amrit Sarovars during the Amrit Mahotsav of independence. Initially aimed at 75 Amrit Sarovars in each district, the number swelled to 50-55 thousand. Yet today, the construction of around 75 thousand Amrit Sarovars is underway—an immensely formidable undertaking. This massive workforce and water potential will be harnessed to safeguard India's environmental treasures._
_Electrifying 18 thousand villages, opening bank accounts for the masses, and constructing toilets for our daughters—all these goals will be accomplished ahead of schedule. When India sets its mind to something, it delivers. This is our track record. Administering 200 crore vaccinations successfully was an eye-opener for the world. The number 200 crore astonishes them. It is the dedicated work of our Anganwadi workers, our Asha workers, and our health professionals that made this possible. This is the strength of my nation._
_We unveiled 5G, with India emerging as the fastest in the world to deploy it across more than 700 districts. Preparations for 6G are already in motion, led by a dedicated task force. Our renewable energy sector has outpaced targets, achieving the 2030 milestone in 2021-22. A 20 percent ethanol blending target was accomplished five years before schedule. Similar achievements were seen in the export domain, crossing the 500 billion dollar mark._
_We resolved a longstanding issue that had lingered for 25 years—our nation needed a new Parliament. Today, the new Parliament stands as a testament to our resolve. It is Modi's determination that expedited its completion. This government gets things done, it surpasses set targets. This is the new India—confident, relentless, and unwavering in its pursuit of turning resolutions into reality._
_This India cannot be halted, this India does not tire, and it doesn't falter. Hence, my dear family, our economic strength has bolstered our labor force, fortified our borders, and our soldiers stand vigilant on those borders._
_As we proceed on this auspicious Independence Day, I extend profound accolades to my soldiers who guard our nation's borders and to our uniformed forces that ensure our internal security. Our military needs a military tribunal, empowerment, youthfulness, readiness for battle, and preparedness for war. Thus, continuous reforms echo within our armed forces._
_With a heart brimming with pride and a soul dedicated to our nation's prosperity, I continue this address. Stay tuned for the conclusion of this journey of emotions._
_Dear members of my cherished family,_
_We recall the days when news of bomb blasts echoed daily, accompanied by warnings to avoid suspicious bags and frequent announcements. Today, our nation experiences a sense of security. When a nation is secure, the foundation for peace is laid, enabling us to envision new realms of progress. The era of serial bomb blasts and the tragic loss of innocent lives now reside in history. The country has witnessed a substantial reduction in terrorist incidents. Even in Naxal-affected regions, transformation is palpable, fostering an environment conducive to profound change._
_Dear family members,_
_As we embark on a journey of comprehensive progress, envisioning a developed India by 2047, it is not just a dream; it is a pledge undertaken by 1.4 billion citizens. Achieving this commitment demands unwavering dedication, yet the backbone of our success is our national character. Nations that have flourished, surmounted challenges, and achieved greatness have all shared a vital catalyst—strong national character. We must bolster this character further, propelling us forward. It is a collective responsibility that our nation's character is vibrant, dynamic, industrious, courageous, and exceptional. In the next 25 years, we should adopt a single mantra as the pinnacle of our national character. We should progress with the message of India's unity, avoiding any language or action that threatens our unity. Continuously, I will strive to ensure the unity of our nation, for it is our unity that imparts strength._
_From the north to the south, the east to the west, from villages to cities, and across genders, we all contribute to our nation's strength through unity in diversity. The second pivotal point that I observe is that to witness a developed India by 2047, we must embody the spirit of 'Shreshtha Bharat.' Reflecting on our production, I stated in 2014, "Zero Defect, Zero Effect." When the world encounters a "Made in India" product, it should exude the confidence that nothing surpasses it. Excellence should radiate through our products, services, words, institutions, and decision-making processes. Only then can we perpetuate the essence of greatness._
_The third tenet underscores the transformative power of women-led development, propelling the nation toward greater advancement. Today, India boasts the highest number of women pilots in civil aviation globally. Women scientists spearhead achievements such as Chandrayaan and moon missions._
_Today, as we work towards creating a network of 2 crore "Lakhpati Didis" through women's self-help groups, we empower our women to lead progress. When I championed women-led development at the G-20, its importance resonated with the group, prompting them to emphasize its significance. Similarly, India is a land of myriad diversities. Our developmental journey has been marred by disparities, leaving certain regions neglected. We must prioritize balanced development by embracing regional aspirations and according due respect to this spirit. If any part of our beloved India remains underdeveloped, our nation cannot achieve complete growth. A weak region equates to an incomplete, unhealthy body. Thus, we must address regional aspirations, ensuring every region seizes opportunities to fulfill its potential._
_Dear family members,_
_India embodies democracy's essence, and its diversity stands as a model. Diverse languages, dialects, attire—our unity is founded on this diversity._
_When an incident occurs in Manipur, Maharashtra feels the pain; if Assam experiences floods, Kerala sympathizes. When any unfortunate event unfolds in any part of India, we collectively empathize, much like organ donation. It is our social responsibility to safeguard our daughters from oppression. This is a familial responsibility and a shared national duty. The return of copies of the Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan fills the nation with pride. When a Sikh brother serves langar during the global pandemic, feeding the hungry, the world applauds, and India's heart swells with pride._
_Speaking of women's empowerment, during a recent visit to another country, a senior minister posed a question: "Do your daughters study science and engineering?" I proudly informed him that in my nation, more daughters than sons are pursuing STEM subjects—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This achievement of our country shines brightly._
_My dear family members,_
_Today, 10 crore women are actively engaged in women's self-help groups. When you visit a village with these groups, you'll encounter "bank didis," Anganwadi didis, and women distributing medicines. Now, my vision is to nurture 2 crore "lakhpati didis" (prosperous sisters) in villages. Leveraging science and technology, we see potential among women in our villages. Hence, I am contemplating a new scheme—an integration of technology into our agricultural sector via training for the sisters of Women Self Help Groups, bolstering agritech. Skill training will equip women to operate and repair drones. The Government of India will provide drones to thousands of these groups, enabling drone services for agricultural tasks. Initially, we will establish 15 thousand Women Self Help Groups to propel the dream of a robust drone training initiative._
_My beloved family members,_
_India is surging towards modernity. Highways, railways, airways, I-Ways (information ways), waterways—every sector is witnessing progress. Over the past 9 years, we've placed significant emphasis on developing coastal areas, tribal regions, and hilly terrains. Schemes like Parvat Mala and Bharat Mala have fortified these sections of society. We've strengthened our eastern India by introducing gas pipelines and augmented healthcare infrastructure by sanctioning more hospitals and increasing MBBS seats in medical colleges. We prioritize accessible education by advocating teaching in mother tongues. I applaud the Supreme Court of India for ensuring judgments are delivered and the operative part is shared in citizens' respective mother tongues. The importance of mother tongues is growing._
_My dear family members,_
_For the villages on the borders of our country, we've introduced the Vibrant Border Village program. These villages were often viewed as the last in the country, but we've redefined this mindset. They are not the last; they are the first villages of my country. These border villages are the first to receive the sun's rays in the morning and the last to bask in its warmth in the evening. My special guests today, 600 headmen from these border villages, have journeyed to the historic Red Fort. They carry renewed determination, strength, and vigor._
_My beloved family members,_
_We conceived Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks to rejuvenate balanced development, and their positive impact is evident today. These once lagging Aspirational Districts now exhibit improved performance based on standard state parameters. I am confident that in the days ahead, our aspirational districts and blocks will continue to surge forward. Returning to India's character—first, unity; second, excellence; third, women's development. Today, I emphasize another aspect: regional aspirations. The fifth and final cornerstone is India's national character, progressing in that direction. Our national character should aspire for global betterment, striving to strengthen the nation to serve the world. Our country's post-COVID actions have cemented our global friendship._
_As an unwavering ally to the world, India's identity is firmly established. When we discuss global welfare, India's core belief is to carry that thought forward. It's gratifying that esteemed representatives from the US Congress join us today on this August 15th._
_India's perspective and approach to global welfare are striking. Our vision resonates worldwide. We introduced "One Sun, One World, One Grid" for renewable energy. The world acknowledges this profound statement. Post-COVID, we proposed "One Earth, One Health," stressing holistic approaches to address human, animal, and plant well-being during health crises._
_We presented the concept of "One World, One Family, One Future" at the G20 summit and are steering in that direction. Amidst climate challenges, we have lit the path by launching the LifeStyle for Environment – Mission LiFE initiative. The International Solar Alliance, a joint effort with the world, welcomes numerous member countries. Biodiversity's importance is amplified through our establishment of the "Big Cat Alliance."_
_The need for long-term arrangements to address infrastructural damage due to global warming-induced natural disasters is evident. Thus, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) offers a solution. While oceanic conflicts persist, we introduced the "Sagar Platform" to ensure global maritime peace. Our focus on traditional medical practices has led to the establishment of a global-level World Health Organization (WHO) center in India. Through yoga and Ayurveda, we've contributed to global well-being. Today, India lays a robust foundation for global welfare. It is our collective duty to build upon this foundation._
_My dear family members,_
_We harbor numerous dreams, firm resolutions, and definite policies. Our intentions are beyond doubt. Yet, we must face certain truths head-on and work towards their solutions. Hence, my dear family members, I stand before you at the Red Fort today to seek your support and blessings. In recent years, I've comprehended the nation's needs and assessed its necessities. Drawing from this experience, I assert that we must now address these matters earnestly. As we approach the "Amrit Kaal" of independence, celebrating 100 years of freedom in 2047, our Tricolour should represent a developed India on the global stage. There can be no halt or retreat. For this journey, awareness, transparency, and impartiality are essential pillars. Nurturing these strengths is a collective responsibility, both as citizens and as a family. It's through institutions that we must nourish them._
_Reviewing the history of the past 75 years, India's potential has never been in question. Why can't this nation, once hailed as the "golden bird," rise once more with that very potential? Friends, my dear family members, I possess an unshakeable belief that by 2047, as we mark 100 years of independence, India will stand as a developed nation. I base this on the strength of my country, our available resources, and most importantly, the power of our youth, especially those under 30 years old. Equally, I trust in the strength of my mothers and sisters. Yet, certain obstacles remain—obstacles that have woven themselves into our societal fabric over the last 75 years. Sometimes, we've turned a blind eye. Now is not the time for blindness._
_To realize our dreams, to achieve our resolutions, it's imperative to confront these obstacles head-on. Corruption, the root of our nation's problems, has corroded our systems and capabilities. Eradicating corruption, fighting it relentlessly across every sector, is the need of the hour. My dear countrymen, my dear family members, this is my commitment—Modi's commitment. It's my personal vow to persist in the battle against corruption._
_Secondly, dynastic politics has inflicted great damage upon our country. This dynasty-based system has clung to our nation, stripping away the rights of our people. Thirdly, appeasement politics has tarnished our original ethos and national harmony. These forces have dismantled so much. Hence, my dear countrymen, my dear family members, we must combat these three evils with unwavering resolve. Corruption, nepotism, and appeasement have thrived, stifling the aspirations of our citizens, robbing them of their abilities. These evils question the hopes and dreams of our people, including the poor, Dalits, backward classes, Pasmanda communities, tribal brothers and sisters, and our mothers and sisters._
_To secure their rights, we must rid ourselves of these three evils. We must create a collective aversion to corruption. Just as dirt repels us due to our innate dislike for it, there's no greater filth than corruption in public life. Thus, we must revitalize our cleanliness campaign to purge our system of corruption. The government is employing technology to fight this menace. The progress made on the ground in the last 9 years is astonishing. If I share the staggering figures, it will underscore my commitment. I put an end to the unfair advantage nearly ten crore people were exploiting. You might argue that this was unjust, but these ten crore people included those who were not even born, yet some claimed benefits by falsely identifying as their widows or divyang individuals._
_Such individuals, who often became disabled with age, continued to exploit government schemes dishonestly. We managed to halt the fraudulent activities of a staggering 100 million such people that had persisted for decades. This is a righteous task, where we put an end to a benami practice that had endured for far too long. The assets confiscated from corrupt individuals are now 20 times greater than before._
_My dear family members,_
_These individuals fled after looting your hard-earned money. We confiscated property worth 20 times more, and thus, the resentment towards me is entirely natural. Nevertheless, I must intensify the fight against corruption. Our faulty governmental system allowed even blatant misconduct to go unpunished. However, in comparison to the past, we are now filing more chargesheets in court, and obtaining bail is no longer easy. We are progressing by constructing a strong system. We are earnestly and genuinely combating corruption._
_Today, nepotism and appeasement have brought great misfortune upon our nation. It is inconceivable that a political party—notice I emphasize "political party"—has distorted the democratic fabric of our country. This can never strengthen India's democracy. The ailment is dynastic politics, with its mantra being "Party of the family, by the family, and for the family." Their political party is rooted in their family and caters solely to their family. Nepotism and partisanship are the enemies of our talent pool. These parties deny capabilities and refuse to acknowledge competence. Therefore, to fortify our democracy, we must rid ourselves of nepotism. Sarvajan Hitaya Sarvajan Sukhay! Everyone deserves their rights. Thus, it is imperative to restore social justice as well. Appeasement has caused the most damage to social justice. This appeasement mindset, appeasement politics, has eroded social justice. Government schemes based on appeasement have obliterated social justice. Therefore, we realize that appeasement and corruption are the biggest obstacles to development. If our country seeks progress, if our country aspires to realize the dream of a developed India by 2047, then we must reject corruption under all circumstances. We must stride forward with this determination._
_My beloved family members,_
_We all bear a crucial responsibility. Forcing the next generation to live as we have lived is a grave offense. It is our duty to bequeath a prosperous and balanced nation to our future generations. Our aim should be to provide a country steeped in social justice, so that our posterity does not struggle for basic necessities. It is the collective responsibility of every citizen, especially during this era of Amrit Kaal, which is an era of duty. We cannot falter in our responsibilities. We must build the India that Mahatma Gandhi envisioned, the India our freedom fighters dreamed of, and the India our courageous martyrs and women who sacrificed their lives for the motherland aspired to._
_My dear family members,_
_When I came in 2014, I arrived with a promise of change. I made a pledge to you that I would bring about change. The 140 crore members of my family placed their trust in me, and I spared no effort in fulfilling that trust. The promise of Reform, Perform, Transform evolved into belief, as I turned this promise into action. Tirelessly, I have worked for the country, worked with pride, and operated under the guiding principle of "Nation First." Based on my performance, you blessed me once again in 2019, and the promise of change led me here. The next five years are poised for unparalleled development, a golden opportunity to achieve the dream of 2047. Next time, on the 15th of August, from this very Red Fort, I will present to you the nation's achievements, your capabilities, and the greater successes achieved with enhanced self-confidence._
_My dear loved ones,_
_I hail from your midst, living among you, living for you. If I have a dream, it is yours. If I toil, it is for you. Not merely because you entrusted me with this responsibility, but because you are my family. As a member of your family, I cannot bear witness to your sorrows; I cannot bear to witness your shattered dreams. I am here to realize your aspirations, to stand by you as a companion, to serve you, to be connected to you, to live with you, and to fight for you. I am an individual who embarked on this journey with resolute determination, and I firmly believe that the struggles of our ancestors for independence, their dreams, are alive within us. The blessings of those who sacrificed during the fight for independence are with us. An opportunity has emerged for the 140 crore citizens of our nation, brimming with potential and strength._
_And thus, my dear loved ones,_
_On this day, during this "Amrit Kaal," in the inaugural year of this era, I confidently declare:_
_As time's wheel continues to turn,_
_In the perpetual cycle of the Amrit Kaal,_
_Everyone's dreams are my own,_
_Nurturing these dreams, steadfastly progressing, our youth march forth,_
_Adhering to right principles, forging new paths, setting a suitable pace,_
_Embracing challenges with unwavering courage, elevating our nation's name in the world._
_My dear family members,_
_My family spans every corner of India, every corner of the world. On this auspicious Independence Day, I extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you. This Amrit Kaal is a time of duty for all of us. It's
the era to contribute to Mother India. The previous generation, born before 1947, had the chance to sacrifice their lives for the nation. They seized every opportunity to lay down their lives. We may not have the opportunity to die for our country, but living for our country is an equally significant opportunity! Every moment should be dedicated to the nation, and with this resolution, we must embark on the journey of fulfilling the dreams of the 140 crore countrymen during this Amrit Kaal. The resolution of 140 crore countrymen must be realized. When the tricolor is hoisted in 2047, the world will applaud a developed India. With this belief, with this determination, I extend my best wishes to all of you. My heartfelt congratulations!_
Jai Hind, Jai Hind, Jai Hind!
Bharat Mata ki Jai, Bharat Mata ki Jai, Bharat Mata ki Jai!
Vande Mataram! Vande Mataram! Vande Mataram!
Thank you very much!
