Keep your mind healthy:
Just as people are aware of physical health, in the same way people's awareness about mental health is also necessary. The number of mentally ill people in our country is increasing rapidly and it is a matter of concern. This disease ranges from normal level to severe-to-severe level in people, whereas in our society, people have a wrong attitude towards it, so instead of treating mental illness, instead of treating it, it is better to suppress it. She goes.
Anyway, there are neither enough hospitals nor enough specialists for mental treatment in our country and psychiatrists are not accessible to everyone in the country. In such a situation, the resources available can be said to be negligible considering the number of patients. However, the country's government has paid attention to this and about three years ago, on August 8, 2016, the 'Mental Health Care Bill' has also been passed in the Rajya Sabha and now it is necessary that people should be made aware of mental health and those suffering from mental illness They should be motivated to get people treated.
There is also a need to change the attitude people have towards mental illness. Mental illness in our country is looked down upon very badly and even a mentally ill person is not treated well. While such a person needs more care and affection, but he gets more disdain and ill-treatment.
About 6 to 7 % of the population of our country is suffering from mental illness. In this, 1 to 2 % people are suffering from severe mental illness i.e. schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. According to an estimate of the World Health Organization, 7% of India's population is depressed. Three out of 100 people in urban areas are depressed and one out of three suffer from a serious illness. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 million people in India depend on only three psychiatrists. This ratio is 18 % less than the Commonwealth's rules. According to which there should be 56 psychiatrists per one million people.
What is the reason for mental illnesses? Do they spread through untouchability or due to some other reason? So the answer is that it is not a disease of untouchability and there is no definite reason for its development. There can be many reasons for it to flourish and if not aware then mental illness can come in its severe form. From genetic predisposition, exposure to brain-damaging chemicals to people's life circumstances, such as pressure of work, trauma of death of family members, severe loss of any kind, mental stress, anxiety, self-reproach, self-deprivation, there are many reasons for which Because of this the person becomes vulnerable to mental disorder.
Whatever are the causes of mental illness, they are easily present in everyone's life and they have a limit, but when a person crosses this limit, he starts having mental problems, such as stress, anxiety, and work pressure. There is in life, but when all these go out of control of the person, then he loses his mental balance and mental distortions start emerging in him. If they are not treated in time and they are not taken care of, then these disorders take such a serious form, which becomes almost impossible to treat.
If seen, whatever the causes of mental diseases are, they flourish more within the confines of the family. If the home-family environment is negative, there are more quarrels, abuses, reproaches, taunts, children and elders are not treated well, feelings do not get enough nutrition, affinity and There is a lack of belongingness, there is a lack of mutual trust, there is suspicion and suspicion among the family members, the feelings of the people are suppressed, there is a restriction on the expression of feelings, then in such a home environment Suffocation and restlessness are felt more and there are more possibilities of mental diseases arising in such a family. It is obvious that if a person becomes mentally ill in such an environment, then the behaviour of other people towards him will not be good and due to this the chances of recovery from his illness will be less.
It is generally believed that brain problems i.e. mental illness result from disturbances in neurotransmitters or chemicals that are responsible for the smooth functioning of the brain. For example- if a person is depressed, their levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin decrease as compared to a healthy person. Similarly, in the condition of severe mental illness like schizophrenia, there is a disturbance in the neurotransmitters-dopamine, glutamate and norepinephrine. These chemical changes in the brain can be corrected through medicine, which benefits the symptoms of mental illness and the person can be healthier and normal than before, but if they are not treated on time these problems can take a formidable form.
The causes of mental illness, the reasons for which people become mentally ill, are often hidden, they are not talked about openly, due to which psychoses grow in the mind of the person and that mental illness they start taking the form of mental illness and sometimes also emerge as physical illness. If the family members help each other to solve their problems, try to understand and remove each other's emotional pain, give freedom to each other to express their feelings and remove the suffocating atmosphere that develops in the family. Mental diseases will never flourish in such a family.
More than half of mental illnesses go away by speaking openly because when a person speaks openly, then he understands the reason of the problems and he himself gets the solution to the problems and by talking openly, the nerves also open up. When the listening person also cooperates fully in listening to him, then faith develops in his mind, he feels belongingness and his mind becomes calm. In this way, mistrust, doubt, unnecessary stress, over-worry, negative thinking and narrow outlook are the root causes of mental illnesses, whereas faith, love, emotional support, intimacy, familiarity, positive thinking and broad outlook help in mental health.
