NASA ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) is going to be such first radar in space for mapping Earth systematically to measure changes on our planet surface across even less than a centimeter.

NISAR Utilization Programme aims to study and analyze Coastal ocean processes to address rapid changes in global climate and on various natural calamities, ecosystems, solid earth science and cryosphere. 

NISAR offers vital datas to observe Earth's intricate process and this Mission involves high resolution imaging,short revisit period and precise Orbit Control. 
It supports Disaster Response by providing relevant datas rapidly. 

With this long-term objective, NISAR UP seeks project proposal from Indian researchers/scientists/academicians affiliated with Government of India organizations and government recognized Institutes/departments. 

This program offered by the Space Applications Center(SAC) looking for 3 years projects through an open data policy on several diverse themes like as Forestry, hydrology,agriculture, Glacier disaster management and so on using the L&S-band data from NISAR.

The Focus areas consist of developing operational algorithms in different sectors,validation of NISAR data,tool development for NISAR data analysis, biogeophysical parameters using NISAR and user friendly value-added services.

Funding support is available for some selected projects while non-funded projects will be offered ground validation data provided by ISRO even such projects will have every technical support regarding relevant sectors.

Project proposals should have to be submitted by October, 31,2023. 
Evaluation results will be communicated by March 1, 2024. 

The researchers are invited to join the program leveraging NISAR Data to create some new discoveries contributing for making a promising,sustainable and safe future for our planet.
