The new legislation carries a penalty of 20 years or life imprisonment for all cases of gang rape, as well as the death penalty for the rape of girls under 18. A new provision was added to the Rape Act stating that failure to resist does not constitute consent. Sexual intercourse under a false identity was also classified as an administrative offence. The government's aim is to ensure equality. The reason for repealing the regulation was to secure and strengthen the English organization. Discipline was at the heart of these laws. Justice should not be served, but each of the three new ordinances should now protect the freedoms of the Indian people.
