Gadar 2's Remarkable Box Office Success: Sunny Deol's Film Crosses ₹400 Crores in Just 12 Days

In a significant global achievement, the Sunny Deol-led Gadar 2 has effortlessly crossed the ₹500 crore mark in box office earnings.

Notably, even after a dozen days since its release, Gadar 2 shows no signs of slowing down in theaters. The movie, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, has successfully crossed the ₹400 crore milestone at the Indian box office.

According to reports from the industry tracking source Sacnilk.com, Gadar 2 earned an astounding ₹11.50 crore in India on Tuesday, August 22. During its opening week, this Anil Sharma-directed film amassed ₹284.63 crore, followed by ₹20.50 crore on its second Friday and ₹31.07 crore, ₹38.9 crore, and ₹13.50 crore on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, respectively. Consequently, the film's total collection now stands at an impressive ₹400.10 crore.

Simultaneously, Gadar 2 has made a remarkable impact on the global stage by surpassing the ₹500 crore mark at the box office. Business Standard reports that the worldwide gross collection for this Sunny Deol blockbuster has reached ₹507 crore.

Released on August 11, Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in pivotal roles. This movie is an official remake of the 2001 hit, "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha." Gadar 2 is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In this sequel, we witness Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakeena's (Ameesha Patel) blissful married life, with their son Charan Jeet Singh (played by Utkarsh Sharma, who also portrayed the child's role in the 2001 Gadar) now all grown up. A twist of fate sends Charan Jeet to Pakistan, compelling Tara Singh to return to Pakistan to rescue his son.

Notably, several prominent celebrities, including Kartik Aaryan and Akshay Kumar, have heaped praise upon the film. Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar also lauded the movie, stating that it has astounded everyone. He expressed, "Gadar has left everyone in awe because it was a massive success in 2001, and now in 2023, it is shattering records. I am genuinely thrilled for its performance in single-screen theaters." Moreover, when asked what he would do if he hypothetically had access to Sunny's phone, KJo humorously responded that he would message the entire film industry and proclaim, 'This is how it's done!'"
