China's Shenzhen Buddhist Round Table to be held in Colombo from October 24.
(China is taking the help of Buddhism to stop India's dominance in Sri Lanka.)
From the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, China is busy increasing its dominance and encircling India. China is now going to hold the Shenzhen Buddhist Round Table program in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 24 to 26 October. Experts believe that China wants to increase its reach with the help of Buddhism to reduce India's dominance in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka expert Indika Perera says that this program is part of China's Buddhism-to-Buddhism diplomacy. It is organized by Hongfa Temple of Shenzhen province of China. Which is happening every year since 2016. This time its theme is – Walk with harmony and collect knowledge about the Silk Road. China organizes this program in those countries which are members of its Belt Road Initiative (BRI) project.
China is worried about the decline of its influence in Sri Lanka and the rise of India's influence. That's why the event is being held in Sri Lanka. China is turning to Buddhism and monks in Sri Lanka in response to the Tamil people's association with India. Buddhist monks are generally considered pro-China and anti-India. Therefore they play an important role for China in maintaining its dominance in Sri Lanka. This year 22 countries are likely to participate in the program. The event will be presided over by Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The program will be held at Bandaranaike Memorial Conference Hall, Colombo.
