In view of the lessons learned from the failure of Chandrayaan-2's lander and the perfect journey of Chandrayaan-3 so far, everyone including ISRO scientists were hopeful that the evening of August 23 was going to be an evening of glory that will never be forgotten for India. . On Wednesday, August 23, India became the fourth country in the world to make a soft landing on the Moon after America, Russia and China. Let us know why ISRO wants to land in the South Pole, what will it get? ISRO scientists had launched Chandrayaan-3 from the Sriharikota launch pad in Andhra Pradesh on the afternoon of July 14. The launch was a complete success and the vehicle entered its first scheduled orbit at the correct time and position. Its first class was expanded the next day i.e. on 15th July. On July 17, the second phase of orbit-raising was also successfully completed and Chandrayaan-3 entered an orbit of 41603 x 226 km. The third and fourth phase of orbit raising on August 22 and 25 were also completed on schedule without any technical glitches or hiccups. It is worth noting that in the journey of a spacecraft, orbit raising is a serious and complex process, in this sequence there is a possibility of technical failure in most of the spacecraft. But Chandrayaan-3 did not face any problem, which is a reflection of its technical proficiency and efficient preparation. Then came the important milestone of August 1st. On this day, Chandrayaan had to undergo its most critical phase till date, when it had to cross the orbital transition. But Chandrayaan successfully made this delicate jump without any hindrance and landed on the lunar surface.
