 The king of Manipur gave them shelter and gave them lands.  On the one hand, while the British Christians were not able to completely conquer Northeast India, they had to face repeated defeats by the tribes of the region.
 Meanwhile, under a conspiracy, the British settled here by converting the Kuki groups into Christians with the aim of opposing the Naga tribes in Meitei-dominated Manipur.  Since then, the dirty game of Christian missionaries was started in this entire region.
 All the tribes of the Kuki group were gradually targeted and converted to Christianity and after that the Naga group was also included in this conspiracy.
 These missionaries tried to Christianize the Meitei group as well, but the Meitei Hindus did not leave their religion.
 After this, the Communists infiltrated the Meitei society, making internal alliances with the Christians and tried to radicalize them on a large scale.
 When the British left India, they had created such pockets in many parts of India, which could become a threat to India's internal and national security in the future.
 The conversion of Kukis and Nagas in Manipur is also a part of this conspiracy and what is being done by Christians in Manipur today is being termed as a war of tribes.
The conspiracy of the Communists and the Congressmen was such that Meiteis, the original inhabitants of Manipur, were able to retain only 10% of the land, while the Nagas and Kukis, who had become Christians, controlled 90% of the land as well as 10% of the Meitei group's land.
