7th Pay Commission: Starting April 1, MCD Employees to Receive Dearness Allowance under Kejriwal Government's Initiative

In a move to uplift the spirits of government employees, the Kejriwal administration plans to provide dearness allowance to MCD workers starting April 1, pending approval by the House, according to officials cited by news agency PTI.
Simultaneously, the Delhi government has proposed an increase in the minimum wage for MCD employees, with the proposal set for consideration in the upcoming MCD House meeting.
The proposal outlines adjustments for clerical and supervisory staff across all scheduled employments.
Expected DA Payments:
Non-matriculate employees: Rs 18,993 with a dearness allowance of Rs 494 per month.
Matriculate but not graduate: Rs 20,902 with a dearness allowance of Rs 546 per month.
Graduate and above: Rs 22,744 with a dearness allowance of Rs 598 per month.
Earlier in October, Delhi Labour Minister Raaj Kumar Anand highlighted that the minimum wage in the national capital is the highest in the country, benefiting workers in various employment categories.
Several states, gearing up for Diwali, have announced varying percentages of DA hikes for their employees. Notably, the Central government raised dearness allowance for its employees to 46% of the basic salary.
Similarly, the governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh UT, and Karnataka have followed suit by implementing increases in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for their employees and pensioners. This reflects a widespread trend of enhancing financial benefits for government workers throughout various regions
