This ancient Temple nearly about 1700 years old. The story of Goddess Durga Devi  ji and her 12 sisters came  and all of them began living here and the Murties  of stone since after this temple started being worshipped. In our country the festival of Navratri is being celebrated with great inthuasim across the country, this festival comes after the Pittar Paksh which contains 15 days period.

Maa Bara Devi Temple is situated in Kanpur district is a very old and miraculous temple. About this temple it is told 1700 year old. According to the priest ( Mahant ji) the 12 sisters came at this place and began to started living here and for this their Murtis of stone was established in this place. After that in this temple started being worshipped.The sisters had left their house to avoid their fathers anger. By this fect their father also turned into a stone. Meanwhile Devotees started gathering this pious place after that this area also got the name of Bara Devi. 

Wishes are fulfilled by tying Chunari

The most real things about this temple that Devotees ties Chunari after getting full fill theirs wishes. During Navratri, there is a crowd of people at this temple since early morning. You can't say more than 1 - 2 lakhs people visit in this temple every day during Navratri. It is told about this temple that every person 's wishes are fulfilled here,  when wishes are fulfilled, the devotees ornaments the mother here. In the temple some people go to the Maa Dham with used to go to the temple with sharp metals  in their mouth and many others person whose offered their tongue t by bitting to Prayers of mother. Happening in prectices have been prohibited by local Administration, but it may seems in every Navratri specially in Summer Navratri.

The temple of Mahant ( Priest) Gyan Chand Pandey ji told the temple is most famous temple in Kanpur There is large scale crowd of Devotees here come during Navratri. For thie festival all preparations have been completed, special arrangements have been implemented along with CCTV footage has also been installed. 

This ancient temple is very famous, because the wishes of every Devotee who comes here is fulfilled.
